The Kiwanis Club Outstanding Senior of the Month award is based upon the student's career goal and their educational planning. Important consideration is given to their participation in the leadership activities and their combined technical and academic achievement at both the ICTC and their high school.

Rachael Riley, a senior in the Indiana County Technology Center (ICTC) Carpentry Program, received the Kiwanis Club Outstanding Senior of the Month for January. Rachael is the daughter of Terry Riley of Homer City, and attends Homer Center High School. Rachael has been an active member of the ICTC Home Builders Club, serving as Secretary in 2007-2008 and again this school year, and Reporter in 2008-2009. In addition to her busy school schedule, Rachael is employed as the Assistant Concession Manager at the S&T Bank Arena/White Township Recreation Complex. Following graduation, Rachael hopes to be accepted into the Apprenticeship Program with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, and pursue a career in the Carpentry field. |

Mercedes Dotts, a senior in the Indiana County Technology Center (ICTC) Culinary Arts Program, received the Kiwanis Club Outstanding Senior of the Month for December. Mercedes is the daughter of William and Rebecca Dotts of Glen Campbell, and attends Purchase Line High School. Mercedes has been an active member of the ICTC Student Government Association (SGA), serving as program area Vice President in 2007-2008, and Treasurer in 2008-2009. In addition to her busy school schedule, Mercedes is employed part-time as a Student Line Worker with Aramark. Following graduation, Mercedes plans to attend Indiana University of PA Academy of Culinary Arts. |

Michael Youngdahl, a senior in the Indiana County Technology Center (ICTC) Digital Media Technology Program, received the Kiwanis Club Outstanding Senior of the Month for November. Michael is the son of Scott and Alice Youngdahl of Seward, and attends United High School. Michael is a member of the United High School Varsity Soccer Team, and has participated in Men’s Chorus, Archery Club, and Band. At the ICTC, Michael served as Project Manager for the Indiana-Armstrong Builders Association web site. Michael has been employed by Mark Coleman of Accent Fuels as a Groundskeeper during summer months. Following graduation, Michael plans to either enlist in the Coast Guard or attend Warrant Officer Flight Training in the Army. He is hoping to work towards a degree in Digital Communications |

Megan Hall, a senior in the Indiana County Technology Center (ICTC) Collision Repair Technology Program, received the Kiwanis Club Outstanding Senior of the Month for October. Megan is the daughter of Richard and Tracy Hall of Saltsburg, and attends Saltsburg High School. Megan has been an active member of the ICTC Rotary Club and served as Treasurer. She was a member of Student Council and is participating in the Remembering Adam Program at Saltsburg High School. Megan has also been active in Girl Scouting since first grade. In addition to Megan’s busy school schedule, she is active within the Saltsburg community, working to decorate the town area during special events, placing flowers on grave sites, and participating in clean-up projects. Megan has been employed part-time by Smail’s Collision Center since 2008, and is currently employed there through the ICTC Cooperative Education Program. She plans to continue further education after high school graduation, and pursue a career in Collision Repair and Auto Damage Estimating. |

Jared Cramer, a senior in the Indiana County Technology Center (ICTC) Welding Technology Program, received the Kiwanis Club Outstanding Senior of the Month for September. Jared is the son of Howard and Julie Cramer of Penn Run, and attends Penns Manor High School. Jared is an active member of the ICTC Interact Club since 2007, and is currently serving as the club’s president. He is a member of the Penns Manor FFA Chapter, serving as Vice President during the 2008-2009 school year, and as the Chaplain this year. Jared is currently employed by the family business, Penn Run Quarry. He is considering post-secondary education, and is planning a career with the Boilermakers Union. |
