Local businesses make a positive difference with ICTC students by being involved interviewing, job shadowing, cooperative education, donating supplies and equipment and volunteering their time in program craft committees, guest speaking or Pennsylvania Skills Assessment (NOCTI) judging.
ICTC Partners receive a 2’ x 3’ color vinyl banner with personalized business information. The banner is hung throughout the ICTC lobby and hallways where students, both secondary and adult education, and visitors can see it for the next 12 months. Rotation of the banners is scheduled to give equal visibility to all partners. In addition, the business partner information is listed on the ICTC website. If the business also has a website, the link is made from the school’s website. To continue to highlight the partnership, the business name also appears on all ICTC event programs.
Financial contributions are used to support the ICTC student certification program which encourages students to set high performance standards. Through industry/business sponsors, the ICTC is able to continue to focus the students’ attention to these solid work values ensuring a more prepared workforce for the Indiana County area. Center Township, the Homer City Generating Station occupies
approximately 2,400 acres. The site also includes the
1,800 acre Two Lick Reservoir, a water conservation facility
which is operated by the station. The station operates
as a merchant plant whose energy and capacity are sold
primarily to customers in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey
and Maryland (PJM) Power Pool. The station can also provide
power to the New York Power Pool. Homer City generates
enough electricity at full load to meet the needs of about
2 million households. |
