SENIOR EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS WORKSHOP
TOURS - Faculty and students visit business and industry to gain knowledge of their career interests.
SHADOWING - Students gain first-hand experiences in their chosen technology area by permitting on-site visits in the business/industry related to their career. During this time, the student actually observes or “shadows” an employee and is able to speak directly with them concerning the requirements of the job and educational preparation. Students are encouraged to shadow several different businesses during their ICTC enrollment.
INTERNSHIPS - Students who are recommended by their instructor for a career-based experience are placed with an business/industry employee mentor responsible for assisting the student in gaining “real-life” exposure to the work environment in a short-term time frame.
COOPERATIVE EDUCATION - The ICTC and its business/industry partners combine their efforts to insure student proficiency and productivity on the job. The student-learner applies school-based career theory and skills to the actual workplace and learns new skills on the job. This paid work experience is related to the student’s career goal.
